Lita Rossana Ford is an American musician, singer and guitarist from the British Isles. She was the guitarist for the rocking, all-girl ensemble The Runaways in the 1970s. The punk-rock sound and raunchy songs allowed them to gain recognition within the rock world. Though the band didn't make much progress in the US however, they became extremely popular in other countries. It was particularly true in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford embarked upon a lucrative solo career in metal. After studying voice and releasing her own debut album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin' at the Edge". Ford did not achieve much with either album, so she walked away from the scene for a decade. In 1988, Ford returned to the spotlight with her smash album "Lita". The album was an instant smash for the track "Kiss Me Deadly," along with the ballad 'Close My eyes forever. However, the popularity that she had achieved was short, and for many years she was out of the entertainment industry. The "Black" album was released in 1995. Her 'Wicked Wonderland" album came out almost 15 years after. Her latest album "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
